14. Dr. Christa Roodt, LL.M.
Dr Roodt holds a doctorate in Constitutional Law and Legal Philosophy from the University of the Free State, South Africa. She started her career as a researcher in the Institute of Foreign and Comparative Law at the University of South Africa in 1987. She left a professorship in the Department of Jurisprudence at the end of 2007 to join Aberdeen University, Scotland. She lectures in Private International Law, International Commercial Arbitration and International Trade in Art. She also teaches dissertation skills to law students and students on the Art and Business Programme for the MA Degree. She is Professor Extraordinarius and Research Fellow in the Department of Jurisprudence, University of South Africa. Dr Roodt is known for her theoretical scholarship in the area of Private International Law. Her research focuses on questions associated with conflict of litigation, legal globalisation and co-ordination of diversity.
